LP Group

Lalbhai Popatlal, the patriarch of the LP Group, started supplying threads for bidi in 1950s.

LP Group has grown to become a 2500+ crore conglomerate with business across all verticals viz trading, manufacturing, distribution, digital and retail.

A family run textile powerhouse evolved from values since 1950 and has grown on the strength of a team driven by passion.

The philosophy on which the “business” follows relationship has been passed on from earlier generation to the next generation.

1950

Nostalgia

Lalbhai Popatlal (LP) started yarn trading business with monopoly of Azamjhai Mills, Warangal. Also started making bidi ball manufacturing to supply the same to bidi manufacturers in Ahmedabad and Madhya Pradesh.

1965

The Beginning

Elder son Jitendra Lalbhai joined the business and established Jitendra Kumar Lalbhai

Our Values Touch Yarns

Yarn indenting business initiated by Jitendra Lalbhai with the agency of The Patel Mills Co. Ltd. under Jitendra Kumar Lalbhai. Our Business grows on our core values comprising of integrity, teamwork, trust, innovate, empathy, self-respect, courage and attitude.

1993

New Cloth Market

JKL opens its new office at ground floor of 58 New Cloth Market, a 100 year old hub of textiles in Ahmedabad. JKL becomes Gujarat’s leading yarn marketing company.

1996

Making The World Flat

Acme International Ltd. formed in partnership with Kejriwal family starting exports of cotton yarn. First container of yarn exported to Abdoolally Ebrahim and Co., Hong Kong from Ashoka Mills (Arvind Group)

2000

Creating Standards That Didn’t Exist

Acme International Ltd. touches the first milestone reaching sales of Rs. 100 crores. Fabric exports started along with yarn. New export markets started including Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines. Establishing pan india network.

2001

Business Diversification

In a product diversification move, the group enters Housewares business in a joint venture with Abdoolally Ebrahim Housewares Ltd., Hong Kong forming AENCO Housewares India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. First export of housewares to UK and Italy.

2005

Foray Into Manufacturing

Enters into textile manufacturing, setting up Acme Cotsyn Pvt. Ltd. in partnership with the Patel family. Acme Cotsyn (ACPL) starts with 25 picanol machines manufacturing denim fabric.

2008

Consolidating

Buys over 100% of AENCO Housewares Pvt. Ltd. and renames the company as Acme Housewares India Pvt. Ltd. Also buys over 100% of Acme International Ltd which enters into new product categories of Finished Fabrics, Home Textiles and Garments . Starts Bangladesh office. Exports grow to 40 countries worldwide. Acme Cotsyn expands weaving capacity to 78 Picanol machines.

2010

Passion Meets Performance

Achieves landmark sales of Rs. 1000 crores on the strength of a record 2000 FCL of raw cotton shipped to Samsung C&T, Hong Kong.

2011

Spinning The Thread

Bought over spinning facility and started Acme Yarns Pvt. Ltd. with a capacity of 13000 spindles making cotton yarns from 20S to 40S. Buys Casa Copenhagen, UK- a home textile brand.

2014

Embracing Digital Transformation

Acme Housewares enters into E-Tail business with Snapdeal, FLipkart and Amazon laying the foundation of a future direction for the group. Launch of Casa Copenhagen, first brand from the group in the home textile category.

2015

The New Look

To better reflect the core values and to emphasize the group strength, new look for the logo is incorporated along with the slogan changing to : Led by Values – Driven by Passion.

Building The Brands

Achieves second landmark crossing sales of Rs. 2000 crores. Casa Copenhagen Brands Ltd formed – Group launches various brands – Sofie and Sam (kids garments), Eera (leggings), Beau (ladies garments), Kitchen Kemistry (housewares), Cocktails & Dreams (barware), and Norman Junior (accessories).

LP Charitable Trust

With the strong belief in giving back to the society, LP Charitable Trust is formed with the aim of supporting needy in the areas of education, health, food and sports.

Interlacing The Yarn

Acme Cotsyn weaving division undergoes modernization with old machines discarded and 30 Tsudakoma Airjet looms added taking the facility to 30 air jets and 44 rapiers Acme Cotsyn expands further diversifying into knitting, setting up Greenfield Factory of 12 knitting machine with capacity of 150 tons per month in grey and dyed knitted fabric.

2017

Innovating The Future

Launch of first flagship retail store – My Casa Copenhagen – a 4500 sq. feet store offering complete home solutions in Ahmedabad.

2018

World Class Facility

Group’s biggest industrial investment – LBTex Pvt LTD in partnership with Bhagat Group starting greenfield state of the art weaving facility of 204 Picanol Summum Looms in joint association with India’s biggest textile company Arvind Ltd.

2019

Made At ACME

Starts first garment facility with a capacity of 1,00,000 pcs/month under Acme Clothing LLP to manufacture Knitted garments with special focus on leggings under the brand – Eera. Knitting division capacity expanded to 15 machines making 200 tons per month.

2020

Ace of Textiles

Ace Fabrics LLP launched to manufacture and market woven and knit finished fabrics under the brand name of “Ace” with a capacity to finish 3 million metres per month.
